Ildong Bioscience announced on the 9th that it has obtained a patent for a probiotic strain composition with excellent vitamin production ability and related health functional foods.
The proprietary strains registered in this patent are ▲Lacticaeibacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201 ▲Bacillus coagulans IDCC 1201 ▲Lactococcus lactis IDCC 2301. It was explained that these strains were found to produce vitamins B1, B3, B6, B9, and C, and after verification, the patent registration was completed.
According to Ildong Bioscience, after culturing the three probiotic strains individually for one day under anaerobic conditions at 37 degrees Celsius, which is similar to the human intestinal environment, the culture broth was sampled and quantitatively analyzed. The amount of detected vitamins was significantly higher compared to other probiotic strains. In particular, the company explained that ▲IDCC 3201 showed excellent ability to produce vitamin B1, ▲IDCC 1201 for vitamin B3, and ▲IDCC 2301 for vitamins B6, B9, and C.
A representative from Ildong Bioscience stated, "Currently, these strains are being used as raw materials for probiotic health functional foods related to gut health," and added, "We plan to expand their applications by conducting additional research and development related to their vitamin production capabilities."
