Stonebridge Ventures is showing strength following news of a chatbot that allows the use of ChatGPT on KakaoTalk. Stonebridge Ventures has previously invested in the developer of this chatbot.
As of 9:54 AM on the 9th, Stonebridge Ventures is trading at 5,080 KRW, up 160 KRW (3.25%) from the previous trading day.
On the same day, AI startup Upstage announced the launch of ‘AskUp,’ a chatbot on KakaoTalk that combines Upstage’s OCR technology with ChatGPT. Upstage was founded by Professor Kim Seong-hoon from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, who led the development of Naver’s AI ‘Clova,’ along with AI experts from Kakao, NVIDIA, and eBay.
AskUp is a ‘ChatGPT with eyes’ that can understand and respond when users take or send photos of documents. The OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology developed by Upstage accurately recognizes text regardless of various fonts or backgrounds.
Through this, users can send text documents or handwritten images to AskUp and receive translated content and answers. It can also handle various documents such as study materials, business registration certificates, and contracts, allowing users to obtain necessary information or process text by asking questions to AskUp.
Meanwhile, Stonebridge Ventures has co-invested in Upstage together with SoftBank Ventures.
