Jasaeng Medical Foundation announced on the 9th that it donated 3,000 kg of rice to the Seoul Social Welfare Council to support households at risk of lonely deaths, such as single-person households and elderly living alone.

This donation was made to address the issue of food insecurity among single-person households due to economic difficulties and to help them become self-reliant. Jasaeng Medical Foundation donated 300 bags of 10 kg rice each to households at risk of lonely deaths residing in Gwanak-gu and Dongdaemun-gu. The donated rice will be distributed one bag per household through the Seoul Social Welfare Council.

Since 2021, Jasaeng Medical Foundation has continued support activities for socially vulnerable groups, including donating 500 winter coats annually to support the health of elderly people in Seoul who make a living by collecting scrap paper.

Park Byung-mo, Chairman of Jasaeng Medical Foundation, said, "I hope this support can be a practical help to the livelihoods of socially isolated individuals," and added, "We will continue to raise awareness about the risks of lonely deaths, a new welfare blind spot, and maintain interest in social contribution activities that care for single-person households."

Meanwhile, Jasaeng Medical Foundation and Jasaeng Korean Medicine Hospital are leading support activities for welfare-disadvantaged groups, including medical volunteer work, education and scholarship projects, and support for national merit recipients, based on the founding philosophy of 'Geunhyeoljisims (矜恤之心)'.
