Air Busan is expanding its China routes in earnest, including resuming flights on the Busan-Qingdao route and increasing flights on the Busan-Yanji route.
Air Busan announced that it will resume flights on the Busan-Qingdao route, which had been suspended since January due to government quarantine guidelines, starting from the 9th. Flights will operate once a week every Thursday.
Additionally, the Busan-Yanji route, which resumed operations on the 1st, is preparing to increase flights to twice a week from mid-month. During the summer flight period, Air Busan plans to resume flights on the Busan-Zhangjiajie, Busan-Xi'an, and Sanya routes.
Our government lifted the mandatory PCR test requirement for arrivals from China and the unified arrival procedure at Incheon Airport for flights from China starting from the 1st. In response, the Chinese government also abolished the PCR test requirement within three days after arrival for travelers from Korea as of the 3rd.
Furthermore, on the 3rd, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport agreed to increase the number of flights between the two countries based on the air transport rights stipulated in the air agreement between Korea and China before COVID-19, leading to a trend of increased flights between the two nations.
An Air Busan official stated, “There had been no direct flights between Busan and China for some time, but as the air routes gradually reopen, we expect the convenience of air travel for local residents to improve.”
