87% of Purchasers in Their 20s and 30s
GS25 announced on the 9th that its dessert Cream Canele is emerging as a sold-out item among the 2030 generation.
Cream Canele is the first dessert product created in collaboration with Billow, a famous dessert cafe in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. As a refrigerated product, it successfully replicates the unique texture of canele, which is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, a quality that is difficult to achieve.
According to GS25, the two flavors of Cream Canele, Original and Earl Grey, ranked 1st and 3rd in refrigerated dessert sales. The sell-through rate is close to 98%, with products selling out on the day they arrive. Among the customers, 87% were in their 20s and 30s, with women accounting for 81% of that group. On social media, related keyword videos have surpassed 1.9 million views, 520,000 likes, and about 1,700 comments.
A GS Retail official said, “Cream Canele is gaining great popularity as a sold-out item, especially among 2030 customers who are passionate about desserts. We will continue to introduce differentiated desserts of excellent quality that surpass the limits of convenience store desserts, maintaining GS25’s reputation as a dessert hotspot.”
