On the 7th, Gangbuk District 3 Redevelopment Promotion Plan (Draft) Conditionally Approved... Up to 37 Floors, 922-Unit Apartment Complex to be Built
Adjacent Dobong-ro 8-gil and Wolgye-ro 3-gil Roads to be Expanded... Infrastructure and Green Spaces to be Created Within the Complex
A 37-story, 922-unit public housing complex will be built near Mia Sageori Station on Subway Line 4.
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 7th that the Gangbuk District 3 (Mia Central Redevelopment Promotion Zone, area 45-32, Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu) redevelopment promotion plan decision (draft) was "conditionally approved" at the 2nd Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting held by Seoul City.
Gangbuk District 3 began with the district unit plan decision for Mia Samgeori Station in 2002 and was designated as the Mia Balanced Development Promotion Zone in 2003. The basic development plan was finalized in 2005.
In 2007, the establishment of the association's promotion committee was approved, but in May 2022, the association dissolved the promotion committee independently to change the project direction. In the same month, landowners and others applied to Gangbuk-gu for the designation and change of the urban maintenance-type redevelopment project plan, marking the start of the redevelopment project in earnest.
After procedures such as public inspection announcements, hearing opinions from the district council, and resident public hearings, the draft was submitted to the Seoul City Urban Redevelopment Committee in February. At the 2nd Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting held on the 7th, the "Gangbuk 3 Preservation Maintenance Zone" was changed to the "Gangbuk 3 Redevelopment Promotion Zone," and the redevelopment promotion plan change (draft) was conditionally approved.
According to the committee's decision, Gangbuk District 3 will have a total floor area of 180,000㎡, a maximum height of 37 floors above ground, and a total of 922 housing units (692 for sale, 230 public housing).
Additionally, Dobong-ro 8-gil adjacent to District 3 will be expanded from 15m to 20m, and Wolgye-ro 3-gil from 8m to 12m, with infrastructure and green spaces created within the complex.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "Gangbuk District 3 is an area adjacent to Mia Sageori Station, the Dongbuk Line scheduled to open in 2026, and the Sin Gangbuk Line that Gangbuk-gu is preparing. We will continue to build urban infrastructure quickly so that Gangbuk-gu can change rapidly."
Guro-gu Completes Installation of Anti-Slip Facilities on Entire Sections of Neunggolsan and Maebongsan Mountain Trails

Continued Efforts to Create Safe and Comfortable Living Environment, Step Lighting to be Installed on Gyenam Park Trail
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced on the 9th that it has installed anti-slip facilities on all sections of the Neunggolsan and Maebongsan mountain trails ahead of the full spring season.
The sections where anti-slip facilities were installed are ▲0.9 km section of Neunggolsan trail ▲0.6 km section of Maebongsan trail, areas where safety accidents were a concern during rain and snowfall, and where continuous complaints had been raised.
Accordingly, the district invested a total project cost of 1 billion KRW entirely from its budget to install non-slip pads in sections without anti-slip facilities, completing the construction at the end of last month.
With this, anti-slip facilities have been installed on all sections of the Neunggolsan and Maebongsan mountain trails.
Previously, in 2022, the district completed installation of anti-slip facilities on the 1.1 km section of the Gaewoongsan trail.
In the first half of this year, the district plans to continue creating a safe and comfortable living environment for residents by installing LED landscape lighting to assist nighttime walking along the 2.4 km section of the Gyenam Park trail.
A Guro-gu official said, "We will thoroughly manage the mountain trails to prevent residents' safety accidents," adding, "We hope the trails in Guro-gu become resting places where people can feel the seasonal atmosphere within the city."
