KT to Hold General Meeting on 31st... Outside Director Candidate Im Seung-tae from 'Yoon Camp'

KT will hold its regular general shareholders' meeting at 9 a.m. on the 31st.


On the 8th, KT announced that the appointment of Yoon Kyung-rim as the next CEO candidate and the appointment of internal and external directors will be resolved at the shareholders' meeting. The current internal directors of KT are CEO Koo Hyun-mo and President Yoon Kyung-rim. KT has recommended Seo Chang-seok, head of the KT Network Division, and Song Kyung-min, head of the Management Stabilization TF, as new internal director candidates.

Due to the voluntary resignation of directors Lee Kang-chul and Benjamin Hong, the external directors are Chairman Kang Choong-gu, Kim Dae-yu, external director of DB Life, Yoo Hee-yeol, chairman of the Korea Carbon Capture and Storage Research and Development Center (KCRC), Pyoh Yeon-myung, external director of Hankook Tire & Technology, Professor Yeo Eun-jung of the Department of Business Administration at Chung-Ang University, and Kim Yong-heon, lawyer at the law firm Dae-ryuk Aju (Limited), totaling six members. Among them, the terms of Chairman Kang Choong-gu, Professor Yeo Eun-jung, and Pyoh Yeon-myung will expire this month.


KT has decided to extend the terms of Chairman Kang Choong-gu and directors Yeo Eun-jung and Pyoh Yeon-myung. At the same time, KT plans to appoint Lim Seung-tae, advisor at the law firm Hwawoo, as a new external director. Born in 1955, Advisor Lim has served as Director of the Financial Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Secretary General of the Financial Services Commission, member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Korea, and chairman of the Financial Creditors Adjustment Committee. Advisor Lim also served as a standing economic advisor in President Yoon Seok-yeol’s campaign. On the same day, Advisor Lim was also nominated as CEO of KDB Life.


Additionally, KT will add facility rental business to its business objectives. KT explained, "The business purpose is being added to promote the rental business to expand the customer base for consumer-to-consumer (B2C) transactions on the Digital Platform Government (DigiCo)."
