DL E&C Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Its First Petrochemical Plant Project in the U.S.

DL E&C announced on the 7th (local time) that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 'Golden Triangle Polymers Project' in Orange County, Texas, USA. Yaeho Yu, Head of DL E&C's Plant Business Division, attended the ceremony along with representatives from the client.

The Golden Triangle Polymers Project is commissioned by Golden Triangle Polymers, a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical in the United States and Qatar Energy. It is a project to build two polyethylene production units with an annual capacity of 1 million tons, the largest in the world, with commercial operation targeted for 2026.

DL E&C won the contract for this project in July last year. DL USA, DL E&C's local subsidiary in the United States, is carrying out the project jointly with the American construction company Zachry Industrial.

DL E&C plans to provide optimized solutions for this project by applying advanced technologies such as modular construction and BIM (Building Information Modeling) and to successfully execute the project.

DL E&C has prior experience executing multiple projects commissioned by Chevron Phillips Chemical. Through this, it has been recognized for its technical skills and project execution capabilities, leading to the award of the Golden Triangle Polymers Project. As this is DL E&C's first petrochemical plant construction project in the United States, further expansion of orders in the U.S. market is anticipated.
