Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) has been selected for the 2023 Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project, securing 190 million KRW in city funds.
On the 8th, Seo-gu announced that two projects were selected: "Taste, Style, Fun! Practical Startup School Providing Three Meals and Fostering Excellent Models" and "Local Startup Support Based on IT to Foster Successful Startup Models."
The "Taste, Style, Fun! Practical Startup School Providing Three Meals and Fostering Excellent Models" project will select 15 prospective entrepreneurs and startups less than three years old, provide quality startup education including e-commerce, and select five outstanding participants to receive one-on-one consulting such as business plan refinement to support actual startup success.
The "Local Startup Support Based on IT to Foster Successful Startup Models" project aims to support youth and career-interrupted women to engage in profit-making activities at their desired times using mobile applications, and through this, expand offline sales channels to promote economic activities within the region.
Seo-gu plans to select 15 participants for the project, provide IT-based online economic activity education, and support the final 10 selected through business plan evaluation with learning spaces, startup education, and startup funds.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "We will do our best to create jobs tailored to the characteristics of the village and alleys and to establish a virtuous cycle of continuous job growth and employment through youth startup activities."
