Yoon Sang-hoon Inaugurated as the 24th President of Gumi City Sports Council

Yoon Sang-hoon was inaugurated as the 24th president of the Gumi City Sports Council.

The Gumi City Sports Council held the inauguration ceremony for the 2nd term president Yoon Sang-hoon and the farewell ceremony for the 1st term president Jo Byung-ryun at Hotel Geumosan at 5 p.m. on the 7th.

About 300 people attended the event, including Kim Jang-ho, mayor of Gumi City, National Assembly members Koo Ja-geun and Kim Young-sik, and Ahn Joo-chan, chairman of the Gumi City Council.

In his inaugural speech as the 2nd term president, Yoon Sang-hoon said, “I will listen to the voices of athletes for four years and create a more developed Gumi City Sports Council through communication,” adding, “This April, we will successfully host the National Sports Festival for All, the 2024 Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival, and the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships, focusing the capabilities of athletes to revitalize the local economy through sports and to promote the rights and interests of athletes.”

Kim Jang-ho, mayor of Gumi City, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to former president Jo Byung-ryun for his efforts in developing sports in Gumi City despite difficult conditions such as COVID-19, and I hope that the newly inaugurated President Yoon will lead the Gumi City Sports Council well with excellent leadership and communication.”

The newly appointed president Yoon Sang-hoon was born in 1960 and was elected unopposed in the election held on December 22 last year. He has served as president of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Volleyball Association in 2008, vice president of the Gumi City Sports Council in 2011, and senior vice president of the Gumi City Sports Council in 2020. President Yoon’s term lasts until February 2027.
