Renamed to 'Gwanghwa Sidae' and 'K-Culture Square' for a Fresh Start

Expression of Will to Overcome Spatial Limits
Domestic Cultural Resources Realized through 3D and Media Art

The experiential space for new technology convergence content, 'Gwanghwasi Dae,' is being renamed 'K-Culture Square' and making a fresh start. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will unveil the revamped exhibition hall and content on the 9th. The renaming signifies a desire to break free from the spatial limitations of the former Gwanghwasi Dae. It focuses on conveying the potential of K-content and Korean culture expanding globally. Korea's attractive cultural resources are realized through three-dimensional (3D) and media art and exhibited throughout the Gwanghwamun area.

Renamed to 'Gwanghwa Sidae' and 'K-Culture Square' for a Fresh Start Deep Space

K-Culture Square encompasses the experiential exhibition hall K-Culture Museum, the giant media canvas K-Culture Screen, and K-Culture Attraction, which combines panoramic screens with 4D ride-type experiential devices. The K-Culture Museum is a media art exhibition space in the heart of the city. Its representative content is the interactive media art piece 'Land of Life.' It delivers deep immersion through motion graphics generated according to the audience's position, movement, and choices. Other contents include 'Deep Space' and 'Constellation Utopia.' The former transforms a confined space into an endlessly expanding one. The latter recalls the past when people explored unknown worlds under a starlit night sky.

At K-Culture Screen, 'The Kinetic' is unveiled. It is kinetic art that dynamically captures moments where traditional beauty and modern images intersect (Kinetic Art refers to artworks that move or include moving parts). The K-Culture Attraction presents 'The Story of Admiral Chungmugong: Sea of Victory.' It is a 4D motion chair experience that takes visitors through the scenes of the Imjin War.
