Seohyun Academic Foundation, a member company of PKF Seohyun Partners, announced on the 8th that it will establish the Seohyun Academic Award and launch a call for papers to promote academic advancement in the fields of accounting and taxation as part of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
The Seohyun Academic Award was planned to support the activities of next-generation researchers and enhance practical relevance. The call for papers is divided into accounting and taxation fields. The accounting field accepts free topics related to audit quality of accounting firms, while the taxation field invites research related to tax policy improvement.
Paper submissions are open from today until July 31. The academic awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in September. In each of the accounting and taxation fields, ▲ one Best Paper will receive a plaque and a prize of 5 million KRW, and ▲ two Excellent Papers will receive plaques and prizes of 3 million KRW each.
Kang Sung-won, Chairman of the Seohyun Academic Foundation, stated, "Through the call for academic awards, we will support the scholarly activities of emerging researchers and fulfill our social responsibility in the professional knowledge service sector." He added, "In the future, we plan to expand the scope beyond accounting and taxation to include finance and legal fields, contributing to the promotion of industrial academia."
The Seohyun Academic Foundation was launched last year as the first academic foundation organized through voluntary contributions from employees of an accounting firm. The foundation supports academic advancement and research and development activities in the fields of accounting, taxation, and finance, while fulfilling social responsibilities. PKF Seohyun Partners is an alliance organization composed of experts from various fields, including Seohyun Academic Foundation, Seohyun Accounting Firm, Lee Hyun Accounting Firm, and Duhyun Law Firm.
