Homeplus Reports 77% Increase in Kids Tenant Sales Amid Endemic

Key Tenants Like Kids Cafes, Swimming Pools, and Roller Skating Rinks Play a Crucial Role

Homeplus announced on the 8th that over the past six months (August 27, 2022 ? February 26, 2023), as the endemic atmosphere took hold, visits by family customers continued, resulting in a 77% increase in sales of kids-related tenants compared to the same period last year.

The surge in sales at kids' stores was largely due to the role of anchor tenants. The large kids' cafe "Monster Park," located in Homeplus Gayang and Masan stores, attracted customers with the advantage of unlimited usage time. Monster Park Gayang store exceeded its monthly sales target by 337% on average over the past six months, which helped increase tenant sales at Homeplus Gayang store by 62% compared to the same period last year.

“Angel Crew Children’s Swimming Pool,” located in Incheon Nonhyeon store, also saw sales increase by 205% compared to the same period last year. It secured members by tailoring all facilities to children's perspectives and offering small group classes favored by parents, as well as mandatory survival swimming education for elementary students. It also operates adult classes such as aqua Pilates and a kids’ water park.

In January, “Gogoland” roller skating rink opened at Yeongdeungpo store. It established roller skating lessons for beginners and a spacious cafeteria for family customers. Since opening, it has exceeded its monthly sales target by 151%, and influenced by Gogoland’s strong performance, tenant sales at Yeongdeungpo store increased by 46% from January 13 to February 26 compared to the same period last year.

Dining spaces that the whole family can enjoy are also popular. The brunch cafe “Ttus Ttus” at Homeplus Mega Food Market Gangseo store is an example of bringing in a local favorite as a tenant. Since Ttus Ttus opened on September 1 last year until February 26 this year, tenant sales at Gangseo store have increased by 67% compared to the same period last year, driving growth.
