Air Busan held a 'Love Blood Donation' event to help address the blood shortage issue in the region.
On the 7th, Air Busan conducted a blood donation volunteer activity with the Korean Red Cross Busan Blood Center at its headquarters located in Gangseo-gu, Busan. Throughout the day, Air Busan employees voluntarily participated in the blood donation.
Air Busan explained that the event was held to ensure a stable blood supply as recent signs of blood shortages have continued, with the local blood reserves falling below the appropriate levels.
Since its establishment, Air Busan has continuously conducted blood donation campaigns, and in 2020 and last year, it also participated in the local 'Blood Donation Relay Campaign' to help alleviate the regional blood supply difficulties caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
An Air Busan official said, "As a regional airline, we believe it is natural to engage with local issues, so we have held blood donation events almost every year. We will take the lead in spreading a culture of sharing so that our steady blood donation contributions at the company level can help patients in need of transfusions."
In addition to blood donation, Air Busan continues to carry out voluntary sharing activities for the local community and underprivileged groups, fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
Since 2013, through the 'Collecting Salary Change Campaign,' which gathers employees' leftover salary amounts (less than 1,000 won), Air Busan has donated a total of 70 million won by last year to cover treatment costs for children patients in the region. Proceeds from in-house bazaar sales have also been used for donations to underprivileged groups.
