The 8th Elected Administration Establishes 9 Detailed Projects in 4 Major Areas to Discover and Support Win-Win Enterprises
Expectations for Job Creation and Regional Economic Revitalization through Cooperation and Mutual Growth between Enterprises and the Community
Promotion of Financial Support for Win-Win Enterprises, Capacity Building Education, and Activation of Joint Purchasing
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, will take the lead in discovering and supporting outstanding win-win enterprises within the region during the 8th elected administration to create jobs and revitalize the local economy through regional mutual growth.
Win-win enterprises refer to companies where small business owners, youth, and social economy organizations act as economic agents to provide social services or jobs to vulnerable groups or contribute to the local community while coexisting with local residents.
The district has established four strategic areas?▲job creation ▲solving regional issues ▲revitalizing the local economy ▲building win-win enterprise infrastructure?and plans to systematically promote nine detailed projects to achieve sustainable regional development together with win-win enterprises.
First, in the job creation area, the district will take the lead in ‘discovering and nurturing new win-win enterprises.’ Through ▲operating employment and start-up programs ▲expanding networking among win-win enterprises ▲conducting visits and promotions of win-win enterprises, efforts will be made to discover outstanding win-win enterprises and strengthen each company’s social contribution capabilities.
Additionally, the district will continue ‘financial support for social economy enterprises’ to enable social economy companies to create more than 30 jobs annually for vulnerable groups on their own. With a total budget of 1.1 billion KRW, support will be provided for labor costs, social insurance premiums, and business development expenses to 73 social economy enterprises.
In the area of solving regional issues, the district will promote the ‘win-win enterprise capacity building project.’ To address local problems such as safety issues for single-person households and insufficient care services, capacity-building education will be provided to win-win enterprises. Through this, the district aims to establish a virtuous cycle of social contribution where win-win enterprises provide high-quality social services and contribute to solving regional problems.
Furthermore, the ‘win-win enterprise integrated support project’ will be implemented to reflect field voices so that companies can operate businesses that meet local demands. Support such as consultations for social economy enterprise certification and social mission consulting will help companies become self-reliant, actively supporting growth that leads to solving regional issues.
The district will also accelerate ‘regional economic revitalization’ by pioneering new sales channels for win-win enterprises. An annual target of 4.5 billion KRW has been set for ‘activating public procurement of win-win enterprises,’ with 86 sites including the district office and related organizations taking the lead in prioritizing the purchase of products and services from win-win enterprises to actively contribute to securing their sales.
To alleviate business difficulties, the district will promote ‘regional win-win specialized projects’ that leverage Yeongdeungpo’s unique characteristics. Using local landmarks such as The Hyundai Seoul, social pop-up stores will be held to move beyond one-time events for experiencing excellent products of win-win enterprises and serve as a foundation for revitalizing the local economy.
Finally, to ensure that new win-win enterprises can settle stably within the region, the district will devote efforts to ‘building win-win enterprise infrastructure.’ Studio Yeongwon will be expanded and operated monthly to promote products of one-person companies and run programs for entering the online commerce market. Additionally, the district plans to utilize the Win-Win Enterprise Support Center as a hub for collaboration and solidarity with enterprises.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, “Mutual growth between enterprises and the community is a key to solving regional problems,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that close cooperation with win-win enterprises leads to the creation of quality jobs and revitalization of the local economy that residents can feel, especially in this era of high inflation and high interest rates.”
