Festival Preparation Including Content Expansion and Activation of Resident Participation
The ‘German Village Beer Festival,’ a representative festival of Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, which has been setting new records of success every year, has begun preparing for an upgrade to the next level.
Namhae-gun announced on the 6th that the ‘German Village Beer Festival Planning Team’ was launched on the 3rd at the Namhae Exile Literature Museum.
The planning team is composed of the ‘German Village, nearby villages, Namhae-gun, and Namhae-gun Tourism and Culture Foundation,’ and plans to prepare the festival in cooperation between the public and private sectors.
So far, the German Village Beer Festival has been successfully held every time and has been gaining nationwide fame. However, the need for introducing new killer content and establishing a public-private joint promotion system has been continuously raised.
The ‘German Village Beer Festival Planning Team’ will be co-headed by the Director of the Tourism and Economy Bureau of Namhae-gun and the President of the National Federation of Village Chiefs Namhae Branch. It will be organized into a planning cooperation team and a content team. The practical work will be handled by Namhae-gun and the Namhae-gun Tourism and Culture Foundation, and an advisory committee of experts will be established to develop festival items that well embody the German identity.
At the launch meeting, various opinions were exchanged, including the timing of the 2023 beer festival, the use of shuttle buses at the township level, and the activation of participation from nearby villages.
Governor Jang Chung-nam said, “I hope that the launch of the planning team will serve as a stepping stone for the German Village Festival to advance to the next level,” and added, “Let’s successfully cultivate the festival by reflecting the ideas and improvements from the planning team well.”
