Jung-gu Special Crackdown on Illegal Parking and Stopping in School Zones

Jung-gu Special Crackdown on Illegal Parking and Stopping in School Zones

Jungbu Police Station and Namdaemun Police Station Jointly Conduct Intensive Enforcement in 36 School Zones from March 2 to 17 during School Commute Hours

Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) is intensively cracking down on illegal parking and stopping in school zones to mark the start of the new semester.

The district, in cooperation with Jungbu Police Station and Namdaemun Police Station, will conduct focused enforcement not only during school arrival times but also during dismissal times at 36 school zones within the area from March 2 to 17.

When there are many illegally parked vehicles around schools, they block children's sightlines when crossing the street, causing traffic accidents.

The joint enforcement team plans to take strict measures against vehicles caught during this crackdown. In particular, fines for illegal parking and stopping in school zones are increased to 120,000 KRW for passenger cars and 130,000 KRW for vans, so caution is required.

The district has informed residents in advance about the plan to crack down on illegal parking and stopping in school zones and requested their cooperation.

Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, stated, “This year, Jung-gu appointed 57 school safety helpers and deployed them to nine elementary schools to create a safe commuting environment. Through this special enforcement, we will encourage no illegal parking or stopping in front of schools and continue to carefully monitor for any hazards in school zones.”
