Prosecutors Arrest 3 Malaysians for Smuggling Methamphetamine for Simultaneous Use by 200,000 People

Three Malaysians attempting to smuggle an amount of methamphetamine sufficient for about 200,000 people to use simultaneously into the country have been arrested.

According to the legal community on the 3rd, the Violent Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Shin Junho) arrested three Malaysians on the 27th of last month on charges of drug smuggling under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.


They were caught at Incheon International Airport while hiding approximately 7 kg of methamphetamine on their bodies. The 7 kg of methamphetamine is enough for about 200,000 people to use simultaneously.


The prosecution is investigating their connections with domestic and international criminal organizations.
