Ewha Womans University Selected as a 'Leading University for Unification Education'

Ewha Womans University announced on the 3rd that it has been selected for the "2023 Leading University for Unification Education Project" organized by the Ministry of Unification.

The "Leading University for Unification Education Project" aims to foster universities that systematically, comprehensively, and creatively implement unification education, develop excellent university unification education models and programs, and promote their distribution and expansion. It has been implemented by the Ministry of Unification since 2016.

As the projects of the three universities previously operating as leading universities for unification education have ended, the Ministry of Unification recruited three new universities (one nationwide, one in the Gangwon region, and one in the Yeongnam region). The selected universities will receive up to 720 million KRW in project funding over the next four years.

Park Won-gon, head of the Department of North Korean Studies at Ewha Womans University, said, "We are pleased to be selected as a leading university for unification education as a result of the accumulated research, education, and various talent development programs related to unification and North Korea centered on the Department of North Korean Studies at Ewha Womans University."
