Premium Senior Residence 'VL Le West'
Hotel Service + Senior Specialized Design
Lotte Hotel announced on the 3rd that it will hold a pre-subscription for the premium senior residence 'VL Le West' for three days starting from the 21st of this month.
VL Le West, the first residence under the VL brand to be introduced in Seoul, will be built in the Magok district of Gangseo-gu within the MICE complex. It will consist of 4 buildings ranging from 6 basement floors to 15 above-ground floors, with a total of 810 units sized between 51 and 149㎡. It is located in a triple station area connected to Magok Station (Line 5), Magoknaru Station (Line 9, Airport Railroad), and is also a five-minute walk from Seoul Botanic Park, making it a forest-friendly area.
Lotte Hotel will support the operation of VL, while Lotte Construction is responsible for construction. This is the first joint VL residence project between the two companies. The premium residential brand VL (Vitality & Liberty) targets active seniors who enjoy retirement life actively based on temporal and economic freedom. These individuals have proactive consumption tendencies and maintain independent social participation, often referred to as YOLD (Young Old).
In line with the characteristics of YOLD, who value leisure life and experiential value, VL has introduced age-friendly services. Lotte Hotel has incorporated its 50 years of accumulated service experience into the residential sector. Representative services include hotel-style resident services such as concierge services covering various administrative support and delegation, bi-weekly housekeeping services including cleaning and organizing within units, and customized meal plans by hotel chefs based on health conditions, offering five-star hotel-level services.
Leisure and cultural services are also provided. Networking programs among residents, VL-specialized products and benefits linked with Lotte affiliates such as Lotte JTB and Lotte Rental are being prepared. With a pet-friendly policy, it is the only brand in the industry that allows companion dogs.
Through business agreements with Bobath Memorial Hospital, Ewha Seoul Hospital, and others, a health management center will operate within the complex, providing residents with specialist medical consultations and health checkups through dedicated counters. An emergency SOS alarm service using real-time biometric signal monitoring will also be offered.
Senior-customized specialized designs have been implemented. Reflecting the independence of active seniors, the layout includes 'one room, one bath' (one bathroom per room), a circular circulation structure within units, and bespoke balconies tailored to residents' preferences, eliminating unnecessary movement and enhancing convenience.
Although Korea is expected to enter a super-aged society by 2025, last year, the capacity of senior residential facilities in Korea was estimated at about 10,000 people, which is only 0.06% of the approximately 15 million senior population. Amid the supply shortage, the 'VL Lauer' project launched last year attracted about 20,000 subscription applications, recording a highest competition rate of 256 to 1.
Applications for subscription can be made through the Lotte Castle website, and the winners will be announced on the 24th.
