'Kim Mi-kyung's Forty Lessons' Tops Yes24 for 2 Consecutive Weeks

The No. 1 spot on Yes24's comprehensive bestseller list for the first week of March was held for the second consecutive week by the new book from the 'national mentor' Kim Mi-kyung, Kim Mi-kyung's Lessons at Forty. Also ranking first in eBooks, Kim Mi-kyung's Lessons at Forty has gained popularity by redefining the meaning of this time and offering encouraging words to those in their forties who feel anxious and unsettled.

The 2nd and 3rd places were taken by newly released books this week. First, Seino's Teachings, which imparts wisdom about wealth and success, ranked 2nd. The book, authored by Seino, a net asset billionaire in the 100 billion KRW range, saw sales increase 2.3 times compared to the previous week during its pre-order period. Known as a 'hidden classic,' Seino's Teachings had readers voluntarily create bound copies and even an app. The 2023 official edition release attracted attention, and it topped Yes24's comprehensive bestseller list in the 4th week of January as soon as pre-orders began. Although sales slowed somewhat during the pre-order period, they have increased again since its official release on March 2. The main age group of buyers was in their 40s (41.5%), followed by those in their 30s (29.5%) and 50s (18.1%), with males accounting for a higher proportion (60.6%).

In 3rd place was Hyo Gi-sim's World History Read Through Power - Europe Edition, a story of desire and reversal in world history born from the bold interpretations and sharp insights of YouTuber Hyo Gi-sim, who has 1.6 million subscribers. The 4th place went to the unprecedented wealthy Saito Hitori's The 1% Rich Person's Rule, and 5th place was taken by the new volume 24 of the elementary learning comic series Seol Min-seok's Korean History Adventure.

Additionally, with the start of the new school term in the first week of March, many children's books entered the upper ranks of the comprehensive bestseller list. Besides Seol Min-seok's Korean History Adventure 24 at 5th place, Hong Min-jung's creative fairy tale Cat Troubleshooter Kkamnyang 5 ranked 10th, Yu Dae-young's Chinese character learning comic Magic Chinese Characters 57 ranked 13th, and Jamdeul TV's mystery storybook Blind 7 ranked 19th. Furthermore, as university semesters begin and job preparations intensify, the TOEIC preparation workbook ETS TOEIC Official Test Questions 1000 Vol.3 LISTENING ranked 20th on the comprehensive bestseller list.
