Since 2012, the Ministry has designated companies with potential to develop into social enterprises by contributing to job creation in the fields of women, family, and youth as "Women and Family-type Preliminary Social Enterprises."
As of March, a total of 179 companies have been designated as preliminary social enterprises, among which 36 companies have been certified as social enterprises.
Applications for Women and Family-type Preliminary Social Enterprises for the first half of this year are accepted through the Social Enterprise Integrated Information System, and after on-site inspections and review by the screening committee, the results will be announced in May.
The designation as a preliminary social enterprise is valid for three years, granting eligibility for recommendation to receive social enterprise certification, and plans are in place to support growth and certification transition through management diagnosis and customized consulting.
Kim Jong-mi, Director of the Women's Policy Bureau at the Ministry, stated, "Through the designation of preliminary social enterprises, we will contribute to providing high-quality social services in the fields of women, family, and youth, and solving various social issues. We will actively support preliminary social enterprises to realize social value and grow into companies with market competitiveness."
