Convenience store 7-Eleven announced on the 2nd that it will hold a half-price discount event on triangular kimbap for teenagers in collaboration with internet-only bank K-Bank to mark the back-to-school season.

According to 7-Eleven, sales of triangular kimbap in the first week of March, when the new school term started last year, increased by 60% compared to the last week of February. In particular, sales growth among teenagers approached 80%.

To meet the increased demand for triangular kimbap among teenagers during the new semester season, 7-Eleven said it will partner with K-Bank to offer a 50% discount on all types of triangular kimbap for customers who pay with the K-Bank High Teen Card throughout March. The K-Bank High Teen Card is a prepaid card linked to a High Teen account launched by K-Bank in December last year. It is issued to those aged 14 to under 18 and includes a prepaid transportation card function.

7-Eleven will also hold the 'Triangular Kimbap Day' event, which is introduced every early March during the back-to-school season. Until the 4th, customers who purchase any type of triangular kimbap will receive one of two Dong-A Otsuka Narangd Cider flavors (Green Apple, Pineapple).

Teenage consumers visiting 7-Eleven during the Triangular Kimbap Day period can apply both the K-Bank High Teen Card event and the Triangular Kimbap Day event benefits simultaneously. For example, if they choose Jeonju Bibim triangular kimbap (1,100 won) and Narangd Cider (1,400 won), they can purchase them at 550 won, a 78% discount from the regular price of 2,500 won.

7-Eleven will also launch an app event with 'Insaeng Ne Cut,' which created the instant photo culture centered on the Alpha generation (born after 2010). After purchasing triangular kimbap, customers who collect five stamps on the 7-Eleven app will receive one photo shoot voucher worth 4,000 won for Insaeng Ne Cut. Additionally, upon stamp accumulation after purchasing triangular kimbap, a free coupon for Tuna Mayo triangular kimbap will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to 1,000 coupons per ID and one time only.
