The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation presented a plaque of appreciation to Yangpyeong County, which doubled its special guarantee funds last year.

On the 28th of last month, Si Seok-jung, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, visited Yangpyeong County and presented a plaque of appreciation to Jeon Jin-seon, the Mayor of Yangpyeong County, for being selected as an outstanding city/county in terms of Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation's contribution performance last year, the foundation announced on the 1st.

Yangpyeong County has expanded its special guarantee funds annually, with 600 million KRW in 2020, 800 million KRW in 2021, and 1.6 billion KRW in 2022. In particular, to support local businesses facing worsening management conditions due to the triple hardships of high inflation, high interest rates, and high exchange rates, Yangpyeong contributed 1.6 billion KRW last year, which is 320% of the 500 million KRW requested by the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation. This amount is double the special guarantee contribution for small and medium enterprises and small business owners in Yangpyeong County in 2021.

Thanks to Yangpyeong County's active contributions, the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation supported a cumulative total of 63.1 billion KRW in special guarantee funds by the end of last year.

Mayor Jeon Jin-seon of Yangpyeong County said, "During these difficult times, we are operating a special guarantee interest subsidy project together with the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation to provide practical funds to more local businesses." He promised, "We will do our best to prepare various citizen-centered policies and provide generous support so that Yangpyeong County can be a reliable pillar for local small and medium enterprises and small business owners."

Si Seok-jung, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, responded, "I deeply thank Mayor Jeon Jin-seon for his decision to expand contributions to support small and medium enterprises and small business owners in Yangpyeong County who are struggling amid the economic downturn in Gyeonggi Province." He added, "Last year, through the regular operation of the Yangpyeong branch office, we have strived to provide faster and more convenient financial support to businesses. We will continue to contribute to revitalizing the local economy through ongoing mutual cooperation with Yangpyeong County."
