Expansion of Rooftop Garden Access in Buildings 7 to 13
The Government Complex Management Headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 1st that it will further open the rooftop garden sections of the Government Sejong Complex, which had been operated on a reduced scale due to concerns about safety accidents during the severe cold season, and extend the visiting hours for expanded operation.
First, in addition to the gardens of Buildings 1 to 6 that were previously open, the rooftop garden sections of Buildings 7 to 13, which had not been open until now, will be additionally opened, expanding the operation to two sections.
Along with this, the observatory located on the 11th floor of the Central Building of the Sejong Complex will be linked to provide visitors with more attractions.
Also, reflecting the requests of visitors who had visited the rooftop garden, the viewing time per session has been significantly extended from 50 minutes to 90 minutes, allowing visitors to enjoy the rooftop garden more leisurely.
The Complex Management Headquarters plans to actively collect visitor opinions on improvements to the rooftop garden operation method by introducing an electronic visitor log system, and will also hold events such as writing reviews until June 30.
The rooftop garden operates year-round during the hot and cold seasons except for holiday breaks, and the currently developing rooftop garden sections of Buildings 14 to 15 will be expanded and opened around October, allowing visitors to tour the entire 3.6 km rooftop garden sections.
Visitors can search for 'Government Sejong Complex Rooftop Garden' in the Naver search bar and apply for reservations through Naver Smart Place. If reservation is difficult, visitors can bring their ID and register on-site.
So-yeon Jo, head of the Government Complex Management Headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, “We have newly renovated and expanded the unopened sections so that many citizens can enjoy them together,” and added, “Through review writing events and others, we will listen carefully to even the small voices of visitors to create a rooftop garden that people want to visit again.”
