Female Riders Followed Closely... Warning for 'Middle-aged Stalker Men' at Hangang

Unpleasant but... No Proper Punishment Method
Female YouTuber "Keep Up with the Speed"

A rumor is spreading that a middle-aged man is only following female cyclists along the Han River, causing female riders to become anxious.

On the 28th, multiple online communities quickly shared a post titled "Perverted Rider Appearing at the Han River." It stated that for about two years, a middle-aged man, Mr. A, has been following women riding bicycles along the Han River.

On the 22nd, a female YouTuber revealed footage of Mr. A following her. The video showed a middle-aged man wearing a white helmet and pink top closely following the YouTuber as she rode her bicycle along the Han River. Even when the YouTuber slowed down or sped up to 30 km/h, he continued to follow closely, and the man even waved his hand toward the bicycle's black box camera.

In addition, multiple bicycle communities have posted numerous sightings of Mr. A.

In July 2021, one netizen said, "I met that perverted guy while riding along the Han River with my wife," adding, "Sure enough, he seems to be following women from behind." Another netizen expressed anger, saying, "He follows female riders while keeping a distance of 3 to 4 meters behind them. It's creepy."

Sightings continued last year as well. Testimonies poured in, such as "When I looked back, he was following again," and "I didn't realize when he got behind me, but when I pretended to take a photo, he disappeared." Although testimonies and evidence photos have surfaced, it is known that it is difficult to impose proper sanctions and punishments solely for following someone.

Netizens have reacted to the middle-aged man's behavior by calling him "perverted." One netizen commented on the YouTuber's video, saying, "Even when taking breaks, he keeps his distance, stops together or passes by, then turns around and comes back." Another netizen frowned, saying, "What does he feel by only following women wearing tight-fitting cycling clothes or by the act of following itself?"
