Users who purchased "probability-based items" but did not obtain the desired items partially won a damages lawsuit against the game company.
On the 28th, Judge Kang Hwa-seok of the Civil Division 1 at Seoul Southern District Court ruled in a damages claim lawsuit filed by six users of the game "Com2uS Pro Baseball for Manager" (Compmae) against Com2uS and the game developer Ace Project. The court ordered, "The defendants shall pay 2 million won each to four plaintiffs and 1 million won each to two plaintiffs."
One of the Compmae users posted on a game community in 2017 that although they purchased probability-based items, the "Shortstop Ace Card" did not appear, and other users shared similar experiences, leading to suspicions of manipulation.
Com2uS claimed that due to a programming error, the "Outfielder Ace Card" appeared instead of the "Shortstop Ace Card" and compensated partially with in-game cash, but Lee and others rejected this and filed a damages lawsuit in 2018. In addition to this case, Lee and others summarized four instances of breach of contract or illegal acts related to the game and demanded a total compensation of 42 million won.
