Korea University Appoints Professor Yoon Eui-sik as Vice President for Medical Affairs and Medical Center Director

Korea University Medical Center announced on the 28th that Professor Yoon Eulsik of the Department of Plastic Surgery has been appointed as the 17th Vice President for Medical Affairs and Director of the Medical Center. Vice President Yoon's term is four years.

Vice President Yoon is recognized as the top domestic expert in breast reconstruction, lymphedema, and fat grafting, and was the first in Korea to introduce robotic breast reconstruction surgery. The Medical Center explained that he was acknowledged for his outstanding work ability and leadership while serving as the director of Korea University Anam Hospital until recently. He not only took the lead in proactively responding to the COVID-19 crisis and advancing the healthcare system and quarantine system but also worked on enhancing the super-specialty consultation system and expanding patient-centered infrastructure.

Vice President Yoon emphasized, "I will prioritize communication so that all members can feel pride and self-respect," adding, "I will strive to ensure that Korea University Medical Center fulfills its roles and missions and achieves results in all areas including medical treatment, education, research, and social contribution."

Born in 1964, Vice President Yoon graduated from Korea University College of Medicine and earned his doctorate from the same graduate school. He has served as the Chair of the Education and Training Committee at Korea University Ansan Hospital, Deputy Director of Medical Planning at the Medical Center, Deputy Director of Medical Affairs at Anam Hospital, and the 30th Director of Korea University Anam Hospital. Additionally, he has contributed to the domestic medical community and medical development by serving as the President of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, President of the Korean Society of Breast Plastic Surgery, and the 9th President of the Korean Association of Private University Hospitals.
