Zero Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Among Short-Term Foreign Visitors from China... Mandatory PCR Testing After Entry Lifted Tomorrow

As the PCR test requirement for COVID-19 for arrivals from China will be lifted starting next month, no confirmed cases were reported among short-term foreign visitors from China on the 27th.

According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 28th, out of 2,114 people who arrived at Incheon International Airport from China the previous day, 190 short-term foreign visitors underwent PCR testing, and no positive cases were found.

This is the fifth time since the mandatory PCR testing for arrivals from China was implemented on the 2nd of last month that no confirmed cases have been reported. Since the mandate began, a total of 14,824 short-term foreign visitors from China have been tested, with 832 (5.6%) testing positive.

The government will lift the mandatory PCR testing for arrivals from China starting March 1, reflecting the stabilization of the COVID-19 situation in China and the decrease in confirmed cases among arrivals domestically. The measure to centralize flights from China to Incheon Airport will also be lifted on the same day.

However, the obligation to submit pre-arrival test results and to enter information into the Quarantine Information Pre-Entry System (Q-Code) will continue until the 10th of next month.
