The Jang-an-eup Village Chiefs Association in Gijang-gun, Busan, donated 1.5 million KRW on the 24th to the Jang-an-eup Administrative Welfare Center as a contribution for the residents of Turkey and Syria.
The Jang-an-eup Village Chiefs Association conducted a fundraising campaign with the collective will of its members on a humanitarian basis, and the entire amount will be delivered as a donation to the residents suffering from the earthquake damage in Turkey and Syria.
In addition to this donation, the Jang-an-eup Village Chiefs Association has continuously engaged in community service activities, such as actively participating in mask distribution projects to support residents during the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
They also take the lead in local issues and village affairs, serving as a bridge connecting local residents and administrative agencies, greatly contributing to the improvement of welfare for the residents of the eup.
Chairman Kim Chi-geun expressed, “I extend my deepest condolences to the people of Turkey and Syria who are suffering from the pain and loss of their families and homes due to the unexpected major earthquake,” and added, “I hope the affected residents can return to their daily lives as soon as possible.”
Jang-an-eup Mayor Park Kyung-hee said, “I feel very sorry for the earthquake damage in Turkey, and I hope this contribution can provide some support to the people of Turkey and Syria who are suffering from the disaster.”
Gijang-gun is actively conducting fundraising campaigns among all its employees to promote international cooperation and coexistence.
