Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-su: "We Must Change the Way Public Officials Work for the Residents"

Communicating with 11 Residents at the February Provincial Residents' Meeting

"Public officials must change their work methods so that residents can easily access policies and receive benefits."

Gyeongnam Governor Park Wan-su said this at the residents' meeting held on the 27th.

Governor Park emphasized, "The provincial government exists for the residents," and added, "In order to provide practical help to residents, efforts must be made to accurately understand the field before implementing policies."

According to Gyeongnam Province, 11 residents attended the meeting that day and shared their opinions on provincial administration with Governor Park.

The residents suggested pioneering the concept of YES Kids Zone, utilizing local YouTubers and collaborating on promotions, and proposed measures such as lowering motorcycle insurance rates to secure income for delivery rider platform workers and expanding the installation of electric motorcycle charging stations.

They also voiced various opinions on overall provincial administration, including youth talent education, industrial complex environment improvement projects, and revitalization of local tourism products.

Governor Park said, "We will carefully review the suggestions made today, reflect them in provincial administration, and inform you of the progress," adding, "For parts that require legal improvements, we will request the central government to make changes and strive to implement them."

Since this year, Gyeongnam Province has decided to hold residents' meetings on the last Monday of every month, and it announced that out of 25 policy proposals from the residents' meeting held in January, 18 have been actually reflected and are being promoted in provincial administration.

A provincial official stated, "We plan to actively reflect the policy proposals from this meeting in provincial administration and inform the proposers of the action plans."

The residents' meeting is open to any Gyeongnam resident who can apply to participate anytime throughout the year via the Gyeongsangnam-do website, and the February meeting can be rewatched on the official YouTube channel 'Gyeongnam TV.'
