Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute Selected as Top-Rated Data Administration Agency

The Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute announced on the 27th that it was selected as an excellent institution, the highest grade, in the '2022 Data-Based Administration Status Inspection' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.


The Data-Based Administration Status Inspection is conducted on 467 central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions in accordance with Article 22 of the Act on the Promotion of Data-Based Administration, which was enacted in 2020.


In particular, the 2022 status inspection was the first to expand the target to include public institutions, and the Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute was selected as an excellent institution with the highest grade in this first inspection. The institute received excellent scores evenly across four areas.

For public institutions, four areas are evaluated: establishment of a data-based administration promotion system, promotion of data joint utilization, data-based administrative innovation, and strengthening data utilization capabilities and culture, with grades assigned as excellent, average, or insufficient.


The Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute received the highest score for its efforts to establish a promotion system, such as appointing a person in charge for data-based administration promotion and establishing the Youth Safety Net Data Center.


Additionally, it received a perfect score for efforts to foster organizational culture, including conducting training to strengthen data utilization capabilities among staff within the institution and selecting excellent internal projects.


Yoon Hyo-sik, Chairman of the Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute, said, “This good result came from recognizing the importance of data in the youth counseling and welfare field and efforts to foster a culture.” He added, “We plan to provide customized services for youth in crisis by utilizing various data.”
