Newly Confirmed Cases 4,026... Decrease of About 5,200 and 300 Compared to Previous Day and One Week Ago, Respectively

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 27th at midnight that 4,026 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 30,502,904.


The number of new cases decreased by 5,186 from the previous day (9,212) due to reduced testing over the weekend. The health authorities decided that from the 26th, Sunday’s quarantine statistics will be released the following day, so the previous day’s statistics were disclosed today. Comparing today's confirmed cases with those from a week ago on the 20th (4,324 cases), there is a decrease of 298 cases, maintaining the downward trend of the outbreak.


Among the new confirmed cases, 15 were imported from overseas.


The number of critically ill patients hospitalized decreased by 5 from the previous day to 163, marking eight consecutive days in the 100s.


The number of new COVID-19 deaths is 15, bringing the total deaths to 33,961. The cumulative fatality rate of COVID-19 is 0.11%.
