Gyeonggi-do Conducts 'Management Status Inspection' of 146 Unsold Public Facility Sites

Gyeonggi-do Conducts 'Management Status Inspection' of 146 Unsold Public Facility Sites Gyeonggi Province is launching an inspection of the management status of 146 unsold public facility sites.

Gyeonggi Province is set to conduct an inspection of unsold public facility sites.

On the 27th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out a management status inspection of 146 unsold public facility sites within housing development and public housing districts, where sales have not been properly completed after construction, causing concerns for residents' inconvenience. The inspection will take place from the 2nd to the 24th of next month.

The public facility sites that have been completed for more than two years include 112 sites in 19 housing development districts and 34 sites in 12 public housing districts, totaling 146 sites.

These sites have not been sold due to reasons such as lack of administrative demand and budget shortages, and most remain as vacant land.

Although the surrounding apartments have been fully occupied, these sites remain unused as vacant land, contrary to the original plans, raising concerns about landscape damage and residents' inconvenience.

Accordingly, the province will conduct two rounds of inspections this year, divided into the first and second halves.

The main inspection items include ▲ usage status and utilization plans of unsold public facility sites ▲ purchase intentions, plans, and reasons for delays from designated purchasing institutions ▲ progress on land use changes for sites where purchase has been abandoned.

In particular, the districts with the most unsold sites?Gimpo Hangang (18 sites), Hwaseong Hyangnam 2 (16 sites), and Namyangju Byeollae (11 sites)?have been designated as focused management districts, where on-site inspections and working-level meetings with related organizations will be conducted intensively.

Park Hyun-seok, Director of the New Town Planning Division of the province, stated, "To resolve the issue of unsold public facility sites early, we will continuously manage and inspect these sites, as well as review various sales methods and institutional improvements to minimize inconvenience to residents."
