Ulsan City Begins Construction of Road Between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon

Cheongok-dong, Resolution of Long-Awaited Project for Over 13,000 Households

The long-awaited road construction project between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon, a vital project for over 13,000 households in the Cheongok-dong area, has finally commenced.

The Ulsan City Comprehensive Construction Headquarters began the road construction project between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon (Jung1-121) on February 15.

This project connects an unlinked internal road network section (20m wide, 0.26 km long) within the densely populated large apartment complex area of Cheongok-dong, Buk-gu, with a total budget of 11.7 billion KRW.

After completing the detailed design in 2017, compensation work has been underway since 2018, but the project faced difficulties in starting due to increased compensation costs from land price rises and insufficient construction funds.

However, despite the government's fiscal austerity policy, the project gained momentum after securing the largest budget in history in 2023 following the launch of the 8th local government administration, accelerating the Dalcheon I-Park to Cheongokcheon road construction project.

A city official stated, “Once the road construction is completed, it is expected to provide transportation convenience to over 13,000 households in Cheongok, Sangan, and Dalcheon-dong, ensure pedestrian safety for students, and contribute to revitalizing the local commercial district.”

The Ulsan City Comprehensive Construction Headquarters plans to invest 54.7 billion KRW of city funds throughout this year to promote projects including ▲ road construction between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon ▲ road expansion from Eonyang Police Station to Seoburi ▲ road construction between Deokha Market and Petrochemical Complex ▲ road expansion from Sinhyeon Intersection to the former Gangdong Middle School ▲ Jangsaengpo Circular Road expansion ▲ road expansion from Deokjeong Intersection to Onsan Road ▲ construction of Dongcheon embankment combined road (left bank embankment) ▲ road expansion from Beomseo Highpass IC to Cheonsang lower ramp ▲ and road construction between Gilcheon Industrial Complex and Jihwa Village.
