Construction Progress and Learning Environment Safety Inspection

Park Jong-hoon, Superintendent of Education of Gyeongnam, visited Bansong Elementary School in Changwon on the 24th to check the progress of the Green Smart Future School construction project.

According to the provincial Office of Education, the Gyeongnam Green Smart Future School project involves rebuilding schools that are over 40 years old, aiming to create spaces where various teaching and learning methods can be applied and to establish a school environment that supports students' lives.

Along with Bansong Elementary School, 40 schools were designated as target schools in 2021, and construction or renovation work is underway, scheduled for completion in 2024.

Classes will be held in modular temporary classrooms for 9 to 12 months during the construction period, depending on the school's circumstances.

Modular classrooms are temporary buildings used when rebuilding or renovating existing school buildings. They provide a learning environment closest to that of existing school buildings, equipped with insulation, soundproofing to block noise transmission, windows, and lighting at the level of general buildings.

Superintendent Park inspected the project progress, school construction site safety, student commuting routes, and the status of modular classroom installation at Bansong Elementary School.

During the site visit, he assessed student commuting routes and movement paths and listened to difficulties and suggestions from officials on site.

Superintendent Park said, “We will prioritize student safety and thoroughly inspect and support the site to do our best in creating a sustainable school environment.”
