Yangcheon-gu Mayor Lee Gijae Receives Yangcheon-gu Model Citizen Commendation

Yangcheon-gu Mayor Lee Gijae attended the 'February 2023 Yangcheon-gu Model Citizen Commendation Ceremony' held on the morning of the 24th at the district office's large conference room (4th floor) and awarded commendations to 49 citizens.


This commendation ceremony was held to select model citizens among those residing or having workplaces (jobs) within the district.


Mayor Lee said, "We will continue to actively discover model citizens who create a warm and happy Yangcheon and prepare occasions to express our gratitude."

Jongno-gu Holds Launch Ceremony for Crisis Household Re-care Team



Jongno-gu (Mayor Jeong Munheon) held the launch ceremony for the 'Jongno Crisis Household (Re-care) Re-check Team' on the 24th to identify and support welfare blind spots.


The 'Crisis Household Re-care Team,' consisting of about 100 local residents, visits goshiwons, jjokbangs (small rooms), and households showing signs of crisis to identify socially isolated households in need of help and connect them to the local community service centers to receive appropriate welfare services.


Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, "There are still many neighbors around us who need a helping hand," adding, "We will actively monitor crisis households to build a meticulous welfare system that leaves no one isolated."

Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Encourages Outstanding Local Scholarship Students



Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, encouraged students selected as scholarship recipients at the '(Foundation) Gangseo-gu Scholarship Foundation Happiness Scholarship Award Ceremony' held at the district office on the morning of the 24th.


The scholarship award ceremony was attended by Mayor Kim Tae-woo, Song Jin-su, Chairman of the (Foundation) Gangseo-gu Scholarship Foundation, scholarship students, and their parents.


The selected scholarship students are two Seoul International High School students who have excellent academic performance and serve as role models despite difficult circumstances. They will receive 300,000 KRW monthly until graduation.


Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "I hope this scholarship selection will serve as a stepping stone for the students to focus on their studies and grow as local talents," adding, "We will continue to implement various scholarship programs so that our students can freely develop their talents and dreams."


Meanwhile, the (Foundation) Gangseo-gu Scholarship Foundation, established in 2001, has awarded a total of approximately 1.839 billion KRW in scholarships to 1,403 local students to date.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, Participates in Hometown Love Donation Program



Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, announced on the afternoon of the 24th that he donated 'Hometown Love Donations' to sister cities.


On this day, Mayor Oh Seung-rok contributed hometown love donations to nine sister cities of Nowon-gu (Goheung, Jeongseon, Yeosu, Sinan, Uiseong, Pohang, Wando, Pocheon, Taebaek), joining the hometown love donation movement.


The Hometown Love Donation Program allows donors to contribute up to 5 million KRW annually online or offline to their hometown or desired local government, receiving tax deductions and return gifts (30% of the donation amount, up to 1.5 million KRW).


Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "I am pleased to support the development of sister cities through the Hometown Love Donation Program," adding, "I hope many people actively participate in the program to help it thrive."

Gangdong-gu Celebrates 1st Anniversary of Single-Person Household Support Center


Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) held the 1st anniversary event of the Single-Person Household Support Center (297-5 Gucheonmyeon-ro, 2nd floor) on the 22nd.


The first part of the anniversary event, held under the theme 'Gangdong Single Life is Really Good,' included a report on project progress and status, followed by an open lecture on single-person households by an invited external lecturer in the second part. Additionally, a gallery displaying works and activity photos from clubs and self-help groups affiliated with the Gangdong-gu Single-Person Household Support Center was exhibited.


Mayor Lee Soo-hee said, "I hope the programs such as club meetings held at the Gangdong-gu Single-Person Household Support Center help form social relationships with neighbors," adding, "We will continue to do our best to explore various policy directions for single-person households."
