Changnyeong County and Changnyeong Livestock Cooperative "Selling Up to 35% Off Hanwoo"

Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, Changnyeong Livestock Cooperative, and the National Hanwoo Association Changnyeong Branch will hold a tasting and discount event to promote the consumption of ‘Changnyeong Hanwoo’ at the 62nd March 1st Folk Culture Festival Intangible Cultural Heritage Playground on March 1.

This event was organized to promote the consumption of Hanwoo beef, whose wholesale prices have recently plummeted. Delicious ‘Changnyeong Hanwoo’ will be provided to residents and tourists visiting the 62nd March 1st Folk Culture Festival venue, with discounts ranging from 20% to a maximum of 35% depending on the cut.

The discounted items include Hanwoo sirloin, tenderloin, bulgogi, striploin, and brisket. Grade 1 sirloin is sold at 6,500 KRW per 100g, tenderloin at 9,000 KRW per 100g, and bulgogi at 2,800 KRW per 100g.

Additionally, the Livestock Cooperative Local Food Direct Store (located in Yeongsan-myeon) will hold a Hanwoo discount event from February 25 to March 5. Events will also continue during the 2030 Busan World Expo bidding fair, the Changnyeong Nakdonggang Canola Festival period, and during the Hanwoo consumption off-seasons of June to July and October to December.

A county official stated, “We will provide tasting and sales services to consumers to promote the excellence of ‘Changnyeong Hanwoo,’ support Hanwoo farmers through consumption promotion, and strive to stabilize Hanwoo prices.”

‘Changnyeong Hanwoo’ is a Hanwoo brand certified by the county, with 104 brand member farms raising about 9,600 heads of cattle, producing high-quality premium beef.
