Hyundai Glovis Supports Transportation of Relief Supplies for Turkey Earthquake Victims

Hyundai Glovis announced on the 24th that it will support free transportation of relief supplies to the earthquake victims in Turkey.

As a forwarder, Hyundai Glovis will provide a large number of 40HQ containers (width 2.35m, height 2.7m, length 12.03m) to transport approximately 200 tons of relief supplies. In the logistics industry, forwarding refers to a freight transport specialist company taking full responsibility for the entire transportation process from departure to arrival of the cargo.

Hyundai Glovis plans to transport some of the relief supplies, including clothing, hot packs, hygiene products, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, donated from various domestic sources such as civic groups, religious organizations, and individual citizens. The relief supplies are currently stored in a logistics warehouse in Incheon prepared by the Embassy of Turkey in Korea. As relief supplies continue to be accumulated in the warehouse, rapid transportation to the earthquake-affected areas is urgently needed.

Hyundai Glovis will load the relief supplies into containers and move them to its container freight station (CFS) located in Busan, then transport them from Busan to Mersin, Turkey, according to the shipping schedule.

A Hyundai Glovis official stated, “We express our deepest condolences to the victims and bereaved families suffering indescribable pain from the earthquake damage in Turkey and Syria. Since these relief supplies carry the earnest wishes of the people, we will do our best to deliver the support materials by utilizing Hyundai Glovis’s logistics capabilities.”

Since establishing a relief goods transportation system in 2013, Hyundai Glovis has been engaged in various social contribution activities. Last year, it provided free emergency transportation of relief supplies to wildfire victims in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions, and in 2021, it delivered relief supplies to flood-affected areas in Gyeongbuk. Additionally, to facilitate smooth transportation of relief goods, it donated dedicated vehicles to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.
