Recommended Walking Exercises for Physical Fitness
Enhancing Benefits with Natural Scenery and Meditation
Introducing Beautiful Walking Trails Across the Country
There is an exercise that anyone can start immediately, whether they have never exercised before or cannot afford to pay for a workout. It is 'walking.'
Not only is it easy and inexpensive, but it also helps improve physical strength and brain health through meditation effects.
Walking a set route every day or wandering wherever your feet take you each have their own charm.
Based on materials provided by the Korea Tourism Content Lab, we have compiled a list of great places to walk daily alone or with others starting this weekend.
Seoul Songpa Naru Park (Seokchon Lake)
The Jamsil field north of Seokchon Lake was originally a ferry dock. An artificial island was formed as soil carried from upstream of the Han River accumulated, creating side streams called Songpa River and Sincheon River that pass through Seokchon Lake from under Gwangjin Bridge to Jamsil Baseball Stadium. In 1969, when the Han River was being maintained, most of this river was reclaimed except for a part. Later, in the early 1980s, Seokchon Lake was refurbished, creating the current Seokchon Lake Park.
Seokchon Lake is divided into East Lake and West Lake. East Lake is mainly used as a resting place, jogging course, and walking path for local citizens, while West Lake features Seoul Playground and Lotte World's Magic Island.
On the Songpa-daero side heading toward Lotte World and West Lake, there is 'Photo Island.' Taking photos with the city skyscrapers and beautiful lake as a backdrop will make great memories.

Seoul Walkerhill Forest Trail
The Walkerhill Forest Trail is a walking path near the Grand Walkerhill Hotel. It stretches 774 meters from the Walkerhill parking lot to Achasan Ecological Park.
It is famous for its cherry blossom path in spring. However, when the dense trees turn colorful, it also becomes a popular autumn foliage spot. Both the road and the walking path are well maintained, making it a great trail to enjoy the scenery while walking and a popular spot for drives.

Chungnam Asan Sinjeongho Walking Trail
Sinjeongho in Asan is an artificial reservoir created in 1926 during the Japanese colonial period. It was renovated into a national tourist complex in 1984. Thanks to its beautiful natural scenery, it is known as a walking trail visited by citizens all year round. It is also famous for bicycle riding and trekking.
There are various attractions around the lake, including an outdoor music hall, lawn plaza, musical fountain park, sculpture park, and aquatic plant exhibition hall. The Korea Tourism Content Lab also recommends walking here in spring because azaleas and peach blossoms bloom along the trail, making Sinjeongho even more beautiful.

The Gupo Barrier-Free Forest Trail is good for walking, but it also has deck paths that allow wheelchairs and strollers to reach the summit without difficulty. Various types of dense trees and wildflowers spread alongside the trail. There are also many interesting rock formations such as Turtle Rock and Jeongseung Rock.
After walking about 2 km while enjoying these sights, you can reach the Sky Wind Observatory. From the observatory, you can see the Nakdong River and Gimhae Plain. It is famous as a date course where you can enjoy the sunset and night view.

Gyeongnam Gimhae Jangyu Nuri-gil

The 'Jangyu Nuri-gil Course' starts at Jomangang and goes from Daechungcheon Jangyu Waterfall Spa Land through Palpan Village, joining back with Jomangang. The total length is 13.5 km.
The 'Banryongsan Course' runs from near Daechung High School along Daechungcheon, crossing Banryongsan Park and continuing to Yulhacheon, with a total length of 10.6 km.
This place is unique because it connects a circular trail along existing streams with the Banryongsan hiking trail. It is known for being good for light walking and also for enjoying forest bathing, making it highly satisfying for trekkers.
Additionally, you can enjoy beautiful natural scenery at Daechung Valley, Sinan Valley, and Jomangang migratory bird habitat. Various experiences are also available at Gimhae Craft Village and Jangyu Art Village. The Korea Tourism Content Lab especially recommends visiting in autumn for even more stunning views.

This place features a fragrant flower romantic path where canola flowers bloom from April to May, poppies from May to June, and cosmos flowers from August to September. There is a Metasequoia path crossing the center of the retention pond, making it a great place to enjoy a walk while admiring flowers.

The name 'Jongdaengi' comes from the old names of the nearby Sangjong and Hajong villages, adding a fun touch with the Chungcheong dialect flavor. The surrounding Simhangsan Mountain is also called 'Jongdaengi Mountain.'
Jongdaengi-gil is 7.5 km long and can be fully walked in about 3 hours. If you focus on the core course around Simhangsan and the lake, it can be done in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
