About 400 delegates attended the regular general meeting. This meeting was the first to be held since the enforcement of the "Architects Act mandating membership in the Architects Association" in August last year.

The delegates deliberated and resolved on ▲ the 2022 fiscal year settlement of accounts (proposal) ▲ the 3rd Basic Plan for Association Development 2023 Action Plan (proposal) ▲ the 2023 business plan and budget (proposal) ▲ and the election of executives, among other matters.

On the day, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong congratulated the meeting through a congratulatory message, and Sim Sang-jung, lawmaker of the Justice Party, Cho Eung-cheon, lawmaker of the Democratic Party, Eom Jeong-hee, Director of Architectural Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Cheon Ui-young, President of the Korea Federation of Architectural Organizations (President of the Korea Institute of Architects) attended and gave congratulatory speeches.

In his opening remarks, Seok Jeong-hoon, President of the Korea Institute of Registered Architects, announced that the major policy tasks of the Architects Association include ▲ legislation of private sector fees ▲ introduction of supervision system for reported buildings ▲ introduction of architects’ work reporting system and revival of design document review system. President Seok added, “We will do our best throughout this year to strengthen the status of architects and improve legal systems, which are the association’s fundamental roles.”

Meanwhile, under the amended "Architects Act mandating membership in the Architects Association" enforced last year, architects operating architectural offices must mandatorily join the Architects Association by August 3.
