Gyeonggi Office of Education Prepares This Year's Audit Plan... 'Headquarters Planning Policy · Support Office Execution'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has established its own audit plan for this year targeting 8 education support offices, 6 directly affiliated institutions, 2 corporations, and 892 schools.

The Office of Education announced on the 23rd that it will promote fair and trusted audits aimed at "autonomy, balance, and future-oriented fairness and trust" to lay the foundation for Gyeonggi education, which will be the center of future education.

This year, the Office of Education will conduct internal audits focusing on policy and planning at the headquarters, while the education support offices will focus on execution.

The Office of Education will emphasize preemptive prevention in corruption-prone areas and conduct audits aimed at eradicating corruption, focusing on ▲special audits of major issues ▲audits of large-scale budget projects ▲regular duty inspection activities.

On the other hand, audits of education support offices will be conducted mainly as on-site comprehensive audits of schools at all levels.

Starting from the organizational restructuring on the 1st of next month, the Office of Education will reduce audit personnel at the headquarters to strengthen the special audit function and change the audit officer position at education support offices to an audit division.

Jung Jin-min, the audit officer of the Office of Education, emphasized, "Through corruption eradication and preemptive audits, we will prepare measures to strengthen internal control that can secure accountability and reliability, thereby creating a more transparent educational environment."
