[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 23rd that it has signed a business agreement with Gimpo City for the mutual development of the airport and the region.
Through this agreement, the corporation and Gimpo City aim to realize a future transportation leading city where the airport and the region grow and develop together through the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) industry linked to the Gimpo Airport Innovation District project.

In addition, in line with the era of 15 million pet owners, they plan to build a pet industry platform so that pet owners can travel by air safely and freely, and to create a city where people want to live with their pets.
Yoon Hyung-jung, President of Korea Airports Corporation, said, “The cooperation between the corporation and Gimpo City is a meaningful step where a public enterprise and a local government seek innovative solutions together in response to changing times.” He added, “We will do our best for the commercialization of Gimpo Airport and Gimpo City UAM.”
Meanwhile, the corporation has been working as the representative company of UAM Team Korea for the commercialization of UAM by 2025, and Gimpo City was the first local government to enact a UAM ordinance.
