Approximately 50% Cheaper Compared to Premium Products
Emart Everyday announced on the 23rd that it will sell 'Ugly Onions (3kg)' grown in Gunwi-gun, Gyeongbuk, at a price about 50% cheaper than the regular premium products until the 28th.
Emart Everyday's vegetable team buyers traveled across the country to find countermeasures as the price of onions, an essential ingredient, surged. They found that Gunwi-gun, Gyeongbuk, had lower prices compared to famous onion-producing regions but had sufficient stock. They purchased 80 tons of products that had irregular size or shape but no quality issues.
Emart Everyday is conducting the 'Win-Win Farm Farmers Revival Project' to provide high-quality fresh food at reasonable prices while expanding sales channels and promoting mutual growth with local farmers. Earlier this month, they purchased 18 tons of 'Ugly Paprika' from Jinju, Gyeongnam, and offered it about 40% cheaper than the regular price.
An Emart Everyday representative said, "We ask for your interest in the Win-Win Farm Farmers Revival Project, which benefits producers, consumers, and distributors alike," adding, "We will strive to create an environment where 'Ugly Agricultural Products' can be consistently loved by consumers through expanding product types and production areas as well as active quality control."
