Some of the donated funds will be used to produce a ‘rest vehicle’ for firefighters deployed at disaster relief sites. This bus will be equipped with reclining seats, a refrigerator and warmer, and hot water facilities to allow rest, meals, and washing.
Additionally, the funds will be used to support ‘family caregiving children and youth (young carers)’ who play the role of head of household while caring for adult family members in grandparent-headed or single-parent families.
Since last year, Doosan has partnered with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation to support children and youth selected as ‘young carers’ by covering nursing costs, medical expenses, and improving housing and educational environments.
Babo-ui Nanum is a private fundraising organization established in 2010 to continue the spirit of love and sharing of the late Cardinal Kim Soo-hwan. Doosan Group has been donating annually to Babo-ui Nanum since 2012.
