Ministry of the Interior and Safety Holds Meeting of Intelligent Informatization Officers Council
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 23rd that it will hold a Chief Information Officer (CIO) Council tomorrow with central administrative agencies and local governments to discuss strategies for implementing the Digital Platform Government and the utilization of artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT in the public sector.
First, the Digital Platform Government Committee will share the direction of initiatives under the theme "Strategy for Implementing the Digital Platform Government," focusing on how to realize a government where all data is connected on a digital platform and citizens, businesses, and the government collaboratively solve social issues and create new value.
Next, expert science critic (columnist) Doksil Lee will give a special lecture titled "Exploring Various Applications and Limitations of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT," addressing the recent social issue of ChatGPT and its utilization in the public sector.
At this event, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety will share and discuss strategies on four agenda items: ▲ Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Digital Platform Government promotion plan, ▲ Digital service openness and user interface/user experience (UI/UX) innovation, ▲ Implementation of an efficient government that works well anytime and anywhere through Onbook, and ▲ The 4th Basic Plan for Public Data.
Seoboram Seo, Director of the Digital Government Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, stated, “We must actively utilize artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT in the daily work of the public sector so that public officials can focus their energy on creating and realizing more creative and citizen-oriented services.” She added, “We hope for the active participation of CIOs and public officials to successfully implement the Digital Platform Government.”
