The 5 major rocky mountains in Gangwon are Seoraksan, Chiaksan, Samaksan, Obongsan, and Palbongsan; the 5 major flesh mountains are Odaesan, Taebaeksan, Hambaeksan, Mindungsan, and Bangtaesan; and the 10 hidden famous mountains are Cheorwon Geumhaksan, Hwacheon Yonghwasan, Yanggu Samyeongsan, Goseong Eungbongsan, Hoengseong Cheongtaesan, Pyeongchang Gyebangsan, Yeongwol Gyejoksan, Baegunsan, Donghae Dutasan, and Samcheok Swineumsan.

The challenge, held from March to October, can be certified through the BAC (Black Yak Alpine Club) app. Participants who complete the climbing certification will receive patches for the 5 major rocky mountains, 5 major flesh mountains, 10 hidden famous mountains, and for completing all 20 peaks.

The Tourism Foundation also plans to hold various events during the certification period to attract both existing and new mountain tourists simultaneously.

Lee Tae-woo, head of the Tourism Content Team at the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, said, "Through the Gangwon 20 Major Mountains Certification Challenge, we will do our best to attract the steadily increasing number of mountain tourists to Gangwon-do even after the endemic phase."
