Sogang University, Emergency Relief Fundraising Campaign for Turkey Earthquake

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Taewon] Sogang University announced on the 22nd that it will conduct a fundraising campaign to support the victims of the earthquake in the T?rkiye-Syria region that occurred on the 6th (local time).

The fundraising for the recovery from the T?rkiye-Syria earthquake is open not only to Sogang University faculty, staff, and students but also to anyone interested in contributing. The fundraising period lasts until the 5th of next month. Donations can be made through the Sogang University website.

The collected funds will be donated to the Joy Sharing Foundation as soon as they are raised. They will be used to support relief supplies at the earthquake-affected sites and to facilitate the prompt recovery of the disaster victims.

Shim Jonghyuk, President of Sogang University, said, "The university is a place that cultivates leading citizens who contribute to society based not only on academic excellence but also on humanity," adding, "We hope for the voluntary participation and sharing of our members for the prompt relief and reconstruction of the disaster victims."
