[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Seventeen smart ‘intelligent gardens’ will be established in Ulsan this year.
Ulsan City announced on the 22nd that it will invest over 500 million won in the smart garden creation project this year to help relieve daily stress and promote health.
Smart gardens are a new type of garden that enhances healing, relaxation, and ornamental effects by introducing plant materials suitable for indoor spaces and automated management technology. They allow enjoyment of gardens throughout all four seasons and provide a pleasant living environment.
Ulsan City plans to spend 510 million won (30 million won per site) from April to August this year to install smart gardens by utilizing indoor idle spaces in industrial complex companies, medical facilities, and welfare facilities.
Once installation is complete, the city will sign maintenance agreements with the respective institutions, and the supported institutions will bear the cost of maintenance themselves.
Since 2020, smart gardens have been established in Ulsan, currently totaling 34 locations (22 industrial complex companies and 12 public facilities, etc.).
