Sacheon City Officials and Their Siblings in Sister Cities Join Hometown Love Donation Program

Jeongeup-si, Uiryeong-gun, Namyangju-si, and Yongin-si among 4 cities and counties

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Senior public officials in Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam, have actively promoted participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program to raise awareness of its purpose and importance and to build consensus.


According to the city on the 22nd, starting with Administrative Welfare Director Park Sang-oh's donation to Jeongeup-si on the 16th, 58 senior public officials have expressed their intention to donate to sister cities.


Sacheon-si's sister cities include Jeongeup-si, Uiryeong-gun, Namyangju-si, and Yongin-si, totaling four cities and counties.


Sacheon City Officials and Their Siblings in Sister Cities Join Hometown Love Donation Program Fifty-eight senior public officials from Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, have stepped forward to donate to their sister city.

As a result, it is expected that the Hometown Love Donation Program will be stably established, and the regional economic vitality of sister and exchange cities, which have been striving for mutual development, will be enhanced along with strengthened exchange cooperation.


Park Chang-min, Administrative Director, said, “The Hometown Love Donation Program is a good system that fosters a healthy donation culture and can achieve the effect of mutual development between regions,” adding, “We hope many will participate with interest and affection so that the hometown love donations can become a driving force for Sacheon-si’s development.”


The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW per year to any local government nationwide, excluding their current address.


Donors receive a full tax credit for donations up to 100,000 KRW, a 16.5% tax credit on amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW, and can receive thank-you gifts within 30% of the donation amount.


Donations can be made through the ‘Hometown Love e-Um’ website, and donation payments are also accepted at all NongHyup Bank branches nationwide.


Collected donations are used for welfare projects that support vulnerable groups, enhance culture, arts, and health for local residents, and revitalize local communities.
